Precision CT Scans for In-Depth Diagnosis

Understanding Your CT Scan

A Computed Tomography (CT) scan, also known as a CAT scan, is a sophisticated diagnostic procedure that combines advanced X-ray technology with powerful computer processing to create detailed, cross-sectional images of your body. This technique provides your physician with an exceptional level of insight into your organs, bones, and soft tissues, enabling a rapid and precise diagnosis for a wide range of medical conditions.

Your Comfort and Care During the Procedure

Your well-being is our top priority during your CT scan. We are committed to ensuring you have a safe and comfortable experience. Here is what you can expect:

  • The Scanning Process: You will be asked to lie on a comfortable, narrow table that gently moves into the center of the CT scanner, which is a large, doughnut-shaped machine. As the table moves, an X-ray tube will rotate around you to capture the images. The procedure is quick and painless.
  • The Importance of Stillness: To achieve the clearest possible images, it is crucial to remain very still during the scan. You may also be asked to hold your breath for brief moments.
  • Contrast Material: For some CT scans, a contrast material may be administered to enhance the visibility of specific tissues or blood vessels. Depending on the area being examined, this may be given as a beverage, an injection, or an enema. Our team will explain this process to you in detail if it is required for your scan.

Preparing for Your Visit: What to Wear

To ensure a smooth and successful scan, please adhere to the following clothing guidelines:

  • Simple and Comfortable: We recommend wearing loose-fitting, comfortable attire. While you may be able to wear your own clothing, it is best to choose items without any metal, such as zippers, snaps, or buttons, as metal can interfere with the quality of the images.
  • Changing for Your Scan: You may be provided with a hospital gown to wear during the procedure to ensure there are no metallic items in the scanning area.
  • Remove All Metal: Please remove all metal objects before your scan, including jewelry, eyeglasses, dentures, and hairpins.
